Why do you do that?

And they inquired,
“Why are you doing that?
What drives you?
What are you trying to achieve?
Is it a need or a sense of duty that spurs you on?”
I felt bewildered,
Uncertain of how to respond,
And tears welled up,
Out of frustration with my stupidity and lack of understanding even self
And then
Looked up to them
I said what came from the heart:
“I just can not
Stop being
Myself”.
